"Same Story, Fish Story" at the Cyclorama Boston Center for the Arts sought to raise questions about the sudden decline in the fishing industry in the United States. Memories and connections of growing up in a fishing family fueled this project that manifested an interdisciplinary practice engaged with the commercial fishing communities in New Bedford and Gloucester, Massachusetts. While heavily research-based, the installation ultimately depended on direct observation and social engagement with fishing communities. Witnessing present day fishing practices on the fishing docks and small boats were translated into the paintings which comment on decline.
